From a young age I have always been surrounded by various animals, from barn owls to bearded dragons, but the animal I have been the most besotted by has always been dogs. When the opportunity to work at Cys Ci was presented to me I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my days than caring for dogs!

I first started showing an interest in working with dogs from a very young age, I entered local dog shows with my terrier, Roxy, and later started attending dog agility classes. I also have experience working and training the families’ gun dogs, which included Rhosa the flat-coated retriever, Rita the Labrador, Gwen the cocker Spaniel, and Jimmy the Springer spaniel. Working and training these dogs was incredibly rewarding and it gave me a good insight into the different dog behaviours. I did my work experience at a local veterinary practice and it was interesting to see all the different breeds of dogs.

I have recently completed the SEG Level 3 Award in Canine Care and Welfare and I’m also fully Canine First Aid training so that you can be assured that your dog will be in safe hands. I also completed business and bookkeeping studies in Coleg Sir Gar.

In my spare time, I enjoy keeping fit by walking the coastal path, doing pilates, and running. I also enjoy baking, for both me and my dogs and I hope to introduce some homemade dog treats to our customers soon.

Favorite dog breed: Labrador - they're intelligent, goofy, and very loving!

Emma has always had a love of animals and the outdoors, having grown up on a small holding with lots of livestock and pets. She was always surrounded by lots of dogs both small and large breeds.

Emma has previously volunteered on an organic farm where she enjoyed caring for the animals. She has also volunteered with a local dog rescue and previously worked in a dog boarding kennel which she found very rewarding.

In her spare time, she enjoys keeping fit by walking and running usually with a dog by her side, gardening, and growing a lot of her own food!

When the opportunity came to join the Cys Ci team Lily knew it was the next step for her. It was the perfect opportunity to carry on doing everything that she loved - working with animals, being active, and being outdoors.

Lily has worked a number of years in a dog boarding kennel and she is thrilled to be coming back to what she knows and loves.

While growing up Lily, was surrounded by all kinds of animals from horses to rescue hedgehogs. Most importantly though she was surrounded by all kinds of dogs from the largest of Great Dane’s to the smallest Miniature Yorkshire Terriers, nearly all of them being rescues. One of her earliest memories is walking a Great Dane, Tigger, who at the time, stood taller than her 4-year-old self! Memories like that are definitely why she has such a love of dogs.

Annie grew up surrounded by all sorts of animals, including guinea pigs, ducks, and horses to name a few, she always knew working with animals was the career she had to follow. She’s so happy to have the opportunity to work at Cys Ci while studying Zoology at Swansea University.

From a young age, Annie has taken part in dog agility, regularly dog-sat and has always enjoyed taking her dogs down to the beach at any spare chance. She’s volunteered at a dog rescue since the age of 14, giving her the chance understand many breeds and she has many favorites! She has two dogs already, a mixed breed and a Chihuahua, and has recently adopted an abandoned Saluki!

Favourite dog breed: I’ve always had a soft spot for lurchers, a breed my family has always had.
